Default A sad time for me

So I posted a couple weeks go about having been hit by this lady and my car getting totalled... I finally got settled into a new car( a 2004 Grand Cherokee) but along with the new vehicle came a new payment...

I regret to say that though I can very tightly afford to keep both, I am going to have to sell my bike. I though long and hard about it and decided that it is best to not let my credit go down the tube just to try to hold on to my bike. I have school debt that is killing me with monthly payments and two vehicle payments along with that is even worse.

If anyone knows someone looking for a 2008 1kRR let me know. I am letting mine go for payoff on the loan which is only 8500.00. I am including all the things mentioned in my signature. I figure whoever buys it is going to be getting a great deal.

Aww I'm so sorry, dude. I'm glad you're being smart about money, though- it'll pay off in the long run.

I endured many tough financial times and managed to my hang on to my bikes. Losing the bike would have made those tough times even worse for me. I guess all I am trying to say is an occasional ride to clear the mind during those difficult times allowed me the sanity to make the right calls and put me on the road to where I am today. It truly is a sad day if the bike has to go.

Sorry to hear that man. Sell it off and buy yourself a cheaper/ older bike - at least a 600. That way you can still stay in the game!

+1000. . .This has been an incredibly rough year for me (both financially and emotionally), and that serene, secluded thinking time that only a bike can provide really kept me from sitting around and wallowing in my own self-pity. I trust you know what's best, and will make the right decision for you, but if it were me, I'd at the very least look into getting a small, cheap bike, just to always have it at my disposal. . .

+1

I'd look at the value of the aftermarket parts on the bike, add that to the loan payoff cost and try to use what you get to get something to stay on the road. I got my '95 F3 for $500 both because it was an incredible deal and because I needed something to distract me from the rest of life. Despite all the cussing it has made me do fixing her, it has definately given me some peace.

Stay in the game if you can. Even if all you can get is a project bike, the sense of accomplishment with each repair and ride will help to keep you from focusing on the negative.

I agree with the others. I got my 92 F2 for 2500 w/ 15k miles and my friend got his 99 F4 w/ 14k for the same. Both very clean. You can get something along those lines so that you can still have a bike.

Hell, get a little 250 Kawa cruiser or SOMETHING. Don't cut off this part of your life. . .
