i just think its equally irresponsible for the police to further endanger people in an already dangerous situation, and if they cant safely stop them, or get their tags, then its not worth putting who knows how many peoples lives in danger...

Someone has to do the responsible thing when it gets way out of hand, like that, and clearly the person who is running has no sense of responsibility... so its really the police's responsibility to know when to call it quits for the general safety of the public, no matter how wrong it is that one jackass may get away that day... cause chances are, it wont be long before they are caught anyway... and in a 'safe' way, with minimal endangerment to everyone

Its just like everyone else that has to own up to, and pay for being negligent or unsafe, so does the state... Otherwise every state, town, and federal government will think they can do anything and get away with it, without any repercussion
Agreed, I just dont think suing the state is the way to make them responsible, not by the running bikers family anyhow. The injuried folks at the bus stop definitely. The cop in question should be brought up on no less than manslaughter charges n dismissed. We had a incident here last year where a GSP made a u-turn to chase a speeding sportbiker. And a speeding n DUI cruiser plowed into the side of the GSP car, breaking the troopers arm and killing the biker. IMO it was the DUI cruisers fault and a jury sided that way also. But yanno how some ppl are, and feel that the state just swept it under the rug to protect their own.

This might be the dumbest post I have ever read on this site. If the police turn on their light and sirens, they are not asking you to pull over if you feel like it. You have to stop! If this were the case then who would ever stop? Nobody wants to get pulled over. Well good luck with the running, eventually it will catch up to you and I hope you survive to tell about it. ("Dont let them white men keep u down bro, neva") Im not even going to comment on this you ignorant moron.

I take it you didn't get the reference I was alluding to. We had a case out in the central valley recently where a squid was doing 90 through the middle of town late at night. Cop pursued. Squid kept going 90, and ran a few red lights. Another motorist (who happened to be a cop from another agency) made a protected left turn on a green light, under a mile or so from when the 'chase' started. Squid ran his redlight and bounced off the cop, and was injured pretty bad. Even worse, his bike also bounced off the cop car, and flung across the street, hitting an elderly man sitting at the bus stop. The elderly man died.

Instead of a harsh ticket, the kid now has the harsh ticket, plus evading arrest, running red lights, at-fault accident, gross vehicular manslaughter, driving without a license, and who knows what else on his record. Not to mention the guilt of taking the life of someone completely innocent. Oh yeah, and he spent (maybe still recovering?) lots of time in the hospital in critical condition.

Link.

Make sure you watch the end when he leaves the courthouse on his well over 200mph suzuki (just knew it had to be a suzuki), funnier than hell.

On a side note, alot of people brag about what they'd do if someone said that to them, or how they'd show the cops who tried to pull them over, etc etc. Mostly BS. There are people who just run, and get away with it a bunch of times. But all it takes is not getting away with it once, and your screwed. Make up your own mind, the rules aren't different for sportbikes, follow em or not.
+1

resisting arrest is a felony. will be on your record for all your future employees to see. Do you really want that?
