Default Ruining the original...

There are a few things that seems to ruin the original for me.

Like how Family Guy (link)has screwed up my view Star Wars.

Or how Weird Al screws up American Pie (link).

Can you think of anything that completely changes your perspective of the original?

YEah... You ruined my view of those original parodies by telling me they ruined your view of the originals.

My avatar explains it all.

when new poppy bands cover old punk or even just older rock then every 16 year old in the world says they're better-n-you because they were fans of the original artist for-like-ever.

Not that I like the song originally but that song sweet home alabama done up kid rock style has completely killed lynard skynard entirely for me...I wasn't a big fan but I'd leave it on the radio, now that **** gets turned off asap.

ferrari body kits for fieros **** me off too

movies, holy cow pastures, movies

almost ANYTIME a movie is made off of a book, I hate it. It doesn't really ruin the book for me, just makes me loathe the movie

I look at it a little different, I know the movie will never amount to the book and that it's just one other person's take on the whole thing so I don't expect much from the movie, just enjoy seeing what another person does with what they read on the pages...if they even read it. I swear some of the Directors must have skimmed some books when adapting them to the screen.

However I really do hate when the movie deviates completely from the book...Kubrick left out the original ending to A clockwork orange...nobody knows who Anthony Burgess is but would get on their knees in front of Kubrick for that film alone.

true enough, I havent seen TOO many movies I've also read, so a good amount of them I thought were good or decent (for example LOTR, War of the Worlds, etc., haven't read) BUT (nerd moment) Eragon left me and my friend gawking at it's fallacies, pretty upset about it too. However, I talked to a lot of people that thought the movie was good, because they had never read the book. I guess there's still entertainment value to be had that way.
