Riding etiquette
I was going for a ride the other day and was on a single lane road behind traffic when this bloke on a VTR comes right up behind me (given he was off to the side). He was almost right beside me but just a bit behind. It pissed me of a bit cause it felt like he was invading my space. I dont mind riding with my mates like that but just some random person made me nervous. I ended up slowing down and letting him go infront. How do you fellas ride
Fellas....there are ladies here too.
And that is uncomfortable, never share lanes unless in staggered position. That has happened to me on the highway in traffic and it gets on my nerves. It makes me want to kick them. We all have a common interest that is dangerous, RESPECT IT!

I'm comfortable riding side by side with a bunch of my buddies, we stagger when possible, but when bunched up it doesnt bother me too much. If it's someone I don't even know, I'd rather them not ride right next to me, I don't know what kinda biker they are or what kinda exerience they have.
I've ride with every type of bike and I don't care where they as long as I see them. Sportbikes are the easiest, we can share lanes non-stop even in turns. When I'm around my brother or some of his friends that ride full dresser (Goldwings and the likes) we stagger the turns. Those bikes are too wide for land sharing. I do have random riders come up to me and share lanes and it doesn't bother me at all. In my state, it's consider reckless operation though. I just finished a bike ride over the week-end with some where between 5000 and 6000 bikes... talk about lane sharing.
i'll ride up on guys i don't know, but, i'll stay back and staggerd. If they allow me to pass, i do, and then they ride staggerd to me. But, with my buddies, we run side by side. If someone i don't know rides up and tries to run side by side, i'll let em go by, cause, like already posted, you never know what they're gonna do with what experience they have. If they come up on me in shorts and flip flops, i ussualy stay away from em.

It depends what mood i`m in, but if i`m on a take it easy ride and i see someone catch me up, i move over to let them in or past i`d only expect the same if i was on a go fast ride. Ridin close with buddies doesn`t bother me you tend to know what each other will do.
I don't invade someone’s lane with out permission. I was just saying I don't mind. If I had someone in shorts and sandals next to me, I'd move away from them and hide too, but for the most part if a rider is confident enough to move into my lane, I'm assume he's .... or she is ok to share lanes with. Yes, I've had a rider share my lane at a light before that was female, but I did let her pull away first... not a sexist move, just wanted to check out the view from behind.
I don't pull up next to em, unless it is at a light, but, if they're riding, i don't ride side by side. Unless they back off the throttle to ride side by side, which i have had happen. But, yeah, if a chick pulls up next to me, she gets to lead. Gotta get a good look at that back.....of the bike that is.
