Default Riders with kids...

My husband and I got our Hurricane last month and since then I have been dying to go on a "real ride" with him. I have let him go out with a buddy and go ride, and he took me to and from school the other day, but I have been dying for a Saturday night ride. I told my brother that we were getting a babysitter and going riding tonight and he made me feel like crap. He told me I had no business riding since I have 3 children, I know this.

Question is, how many of you have children? Should I not ride with my husband, because if something happens they lose us both?

I have 2 girls and a boy. Their mother hates motorcycles. Cars can kill, walking can kill, running can kill. What can't kill? sitting in a padded room 24 hours a day is the only way to stay "safe"......

my wife is expecting our first child

let me guess... he's a non-rider.

don't take any advice from non-riders. i don't care how many people they knew that got into accidents or died... they don't know what they're talking about

and if he does ride - then he should know better to say anything because when someone says "you'll die" or something like that, it rattles my head. it does nothing other than distract me, and thats when mistakes are made.

you're a parent, you know the responsibilities involved. ride responsibly.

My "kid" recently turned 30 but that doesn't keep my wife and me from going out for a ride now and then.

And yet your wife has helmet hair. Squidding that day were ya?

Was gonna say something similar but since I don't have kids and Yuen won't get within 10' of the passenger seat while I'm on the bike it didn't seem right

When I'm riding with the wifey-poo, I am NOT sporting, she's out having a good time
and I'm staying focused on the road. The odds in 2006 were 68 in 100,000.
68% of those were lack of perception on the part of the drivers of 1 or both vehicles.

If your hubby isn't an idiot and rides responsibly, you are not, in my opinion,
exercising poor judgement by riding together.
