Went riding with a group of guys and I had the oldest slowest bike by far. lol. We were rolling up in the mountainssouth of Mt. St. Helens down this long straight a couple miles long. I was second to last in the pack. The last guy was riding a gsx-r1000 modded with his girlfriend on the back. Well I see the straight so I tuck, downshift to 4th and lock my wrist down. I glance down and the speedo reads 130 and I feel like I'm just rollin!!! Out of nowhere the gsx-r blasts past meat probably 150-160. Just smokes me! lol. I knew litre bikes were fast but I was surprised at the acceleration at that high a speed. Good times!

I aint worried with top speed no more. I plan on getting -1/+2 when I replace my spockets n chain. I much rather have usablepower when I need n have it tame thru town. tame is not in a 1k's vocabulary lol

I have to admit, I was acted a little "squiddish" earlier today. Me and my roommate went on a 70 mile ride and we were on our way home using the interstate and when it cleared up (no traffic in either direction), I hammered it. I remember glancing down, the speedo reading 160, and all I could think of was "MORE POWEEERRRRRRRRR". I get this way on the track too (not crazy, just wanting to go faster). Once the engine hits the magic 13,000 RPM mark and hearing it slowly growling, climing the tachometer, it's like an direct shot of crack to the bloodstream.

i know the feeling, i had my old 06 6rr, at an indicated 173 (about 160 i guess) tapped out. i felt like i wanted more. but then again i thought to myself thats the 1st time in my entire life ive ever been over 150. 21yrs of riding. why do i want more top end?

After I saw how 14 year old kid on his 250cc wasowning 90% liter guys on a track , I stoppedworrying about my bike being underpowered
