the rc51 is an out and out race rep suspention is rock hard around town but get above 100mph and it starts to make sense the engine is a cracker loads of torque. the rideing position is for the track high pegs low bars. tank range is about 100 miles but your **** will want to stop before that. i have only had a short ride on the 1000rr good torque screaming engine better for road riding. i make the rc sound bad but it is one of the best bikes i have ridden. test ride them both, by both and keep the rc for special occasions.
nice input...thanks...I was beginning to think it was some slow chopper performance but with good track bike looks

ive ridden a rc51, but not a 1000rr. everything else aside, go for the inline 4. there's a reason that the rc51 is mechanically unchanged since its 2000 introduction. there's no real need for the bike anymore. and everything that ive read says the inline has better street manners. cbr1000rr=better looks, faster speeds, and cheaper msrp. no brainer for me. the only thing the rc51 has going is that sweet sound.
