quick question?
When I signed up for the course, I had to wait for a month because the class was full. I didn't want to wait a month to go riding out on the street, so I took the written portion of the test at the DMV as soon as I could. So when I passed the rider course, all I did was go back to the DMV and showed em my completion certificate and I was done. So not long at all. Are you asking because you took the course a while ago, and still haven't gone to the DMV and you're wondering if the certificate of completion is still valid?
after my msf course i had to wait 2-3 weeks, if you want the course u really do need to schedule for it and it does get full early so i suggest 6 months to a year of an advance, i got lucky i knew about it in march and took the corse in august the same year.
I took my writen part and passed that which gave me the permit thingababob. Called later that day I called to make an appointment to get the road test or parking lot test thing... whatever u want to call it. I couldnt get in until like 2-3 weeks later because he was full. I still rode my bike without the license though.
There was no way I was going to wait 3 weeks to go for a ride. I rode everyday then the day came and I took my test and got my license. So not long at all. Depends on how booked the tester is...
P.S. I believe the ticket for not having a cycle license is only $50-$60 or something with no points. Thats if you get caught [sm=hia.gif]

I already had a bike endorsement when I took the MSF. In GA the GSP takes the applications beginning in Feb I think -- got mine to 'em in early March and my class was in late August about 50 miles away. It's a very popular course so schedule early. Also darn well worth it.
I took the MSF course while in Okinawa, Japan and had been riding for a while over there. When I came to be stationed in NC, I stopped back home in FL and went to the DMV and showed it to them. They just had me retake my license picture and pay about $15.00 and put the motorcycle endorsement on the license.
i had my endorsement for three years before i took the msf course. so the completion for me was for the insurance break. my friend took the class with me (never ridden a bike, no permit) and after finishing the course had to carry a learner's permit for 30 days. he then went back with his completion card and had the endorsement put on his license without any other tests.
i wish i knew what it was like to have a license i have had my permit for the last 2 years i am just to lazy to go get my license. of course in pa on your permit you cant ride at night and cant have passengers as long as it is warm and gas is still high i will take my bike over my wrangler with 35 inch tires on it, any day of the week. where are you from transamlt1man in pa for your permit you walk in to the dmv tell them you want you bike permit pay 25 dollars and get the permit you dont take the written test until you go for your license after you pass the written then you do the road test.

the permits here in indiana are only good for a year. and you cant have passengers, ride at night, and have to wear a helmet (no helmet required for licenses.)
