Well, I got them back!

-Kewl Breeze: Thanks a ton. without your link i wouldnt have known where to start.... i played around with something that link said to do and finally got it... heres exactly what I did incase this happenes to anyone else.

"Find.... C:\Documents and Settings\windows login user(active)\Application Data\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\xxxxxx.default\bookm arkbackups***look for the bookmark which has the biggest file size (this will be a .html file) or second from the latest bookmark. then import to firefox from there, that should be it" than you can just import them from the .html file.

-ffingers: I am for sure going to look into that google bookmarks, I never knew about that. That's definitely a good idea and being able to use your bookmarks from anyplace would be great... thanks!

and thanks for everyone crazy fast responses!!

ORIGINAL: ffingers

just so you know...Google can store your bookmarks online, then using the google toolbar in firefox,
Yeah, but you have to have the google toolbar...

I have had issues here at work where it prevents our internal .NET web app from functioning properly.

actually you don't, there is a bookmark you can make that has the same function...essentially click on the link when you want to bookmark and it's added to google bookmarks...without using the toolbar (although the toolbar is the easiest way)...

on the bottom of the google.com/bookmarks page they say "drag this bookmarklet to your toolbar" and it creates a bookmark for marking your sites...the ACTUAL link code if you want to make it by hand is...

javascriptfunction(){var%20a=window,b=document,c =encodeURIComponent,d=a.open("http://www.google.com/bookmarks/mark?op=edit&output=popup&bkmk="+c(b.locat ion)+"&title="+c(b.title),"bkmk_popup","left=" +((a.screenX||a.screenLeft)+10)+",top="+((a.screen Y||a.screenTop)+10)+",height=420px,width=550px,res izable=1,alwaysRaised=1");a.setTimeout(function(){ d.focus()},300)})();
