I am using V.3 and have had zero problems. I imported and resorted all my IE7 bookmarks and it works fine, no problems here

I usually save the old version (instead of letting FF replace it) for this reason but I've never run into that problem.

Read this and see if it helps.

During normal usage of Firefox, you may discover that Firefox has apparently lost your bookmarks. In most cases, the bookmarks are not lost. This article discusses the main ways in which it can appear that your bookmarks are missing and how you can recover them.

Yup it still happens. Its just "when" its going to happen. The only time it's done it to me was earlier this month and I didnt even updated it. Just fired up the pc and opened firefox and a ton of my bookmarks were gone. Luckly I backed them up the week before.

Couldnt tell you why it does it but it happens.

Just upgraded to the latest (V3) and never had any problems with either one. In fact I used to get nothing but problems through IE. Thank God for Mozilla. I was going crazy using that microcrap ... well... crap.

just so you know...Google can store your bookmarks online, then using the google toolbar in firefox, you can mark and tag them and save them to your google bookmarks right from your browser...

i do this now just because i can then access my bookmarks anywhere....

http://www.google.com/bookmarks/

and i know other sites do this...like delicious...but this is just a simple bookmark keeper, no social crap to go with it...which is why i like it!
