Default Projection TV Bulbs

We had a little bit of a storm here last night and my Toshiba blew it's bulb. I had it on a big Monster surge protector (power surged like 4 times), but after the storm had passed it just blew the heck up. So, I was wondering if anyone knew of any good places to buy besides ebay. Any and all help is appreciated.

Part # Y66 LMP

You can go to Best Buy's website and order one from there. On their homepage, go all the way down to the bottom and click the "order parts" link. That'll take you to their site where you can order a bulb. Toshiba DLP bulbs are just about $250-ish dollars.

I need you to check for a 3 digit code on the bulb, it should be printed on the ceramic, if you could take a picture, or if you have the tv model number, my sales guy said we have about a 50/50 chance with it.

It's a mercury bulb. There are a few numbers on the backside when I take it apart.

SHP92
V32A00000100

Model of TV: 56HM66

Thanks for the help!

just curious where did you buy the tv from ? you should also be able to go into your local Sears parts/reapir center and take the MODEL # of the TV with you and they can look up any part you need including the bulb

Oh, and as an fyi, my lamp guy just walked in and told me to warn you not to break that bulb open or the mercury vapors will kill you.....he said you may only be able to get that bulb from tishiba since they are deemed hazmat.

I read somewhere that you want to buy 2 bulbs. Use one for the x number of months the warranty is good for...then buy a second bulb at the end of the period and put that in and use it till it dies. That way you get you warranty worth plus have a spare for when the one actually dies.

I'm just looking for the best price because I'm on a limited budget. Toshiba quotes 250, Best Buy is 220, and Ebay is 160 + shipping.

I appreciate the help rrasco. Thanks to everyone else as well. I'll be picking up one early next week when I get paid.
