Pro-Grip Models

Pro-Grip Models
I recently bought a set of gel grips, single density and not really liking them, just too thin so I want to go with the dual density ones but not interested in wasting money again before I have all the information.
Looking at all the duo density models like 719, 717, 830, etc and just wondering besides esthetics, are there any difference in models or is it purely just looks? Any all info would be great

47 views and no replies. OP, I'm guessing alot of people thought you meant the other kind of model.
Seriously though, I've gone through several sets of Pro-Grips over the years. I've never paid any attention to the model, I make my decision based more on aesthetics and they've all performed equally well. Based on this, I'm going to assume(IMO anyway) that there really is little, if any perceivable difference between one model and the next. Sorry not much help, but thats all I got.

Ive found harder compounds to be easiest with softer the hardest. If you have an air compressor and a needle attachment it can take as little as 30 sec (used to do it at the bike shop when I was a mechanic) or you can use hairspray or rubbing alcohol and 5 - 10 min. both work well; hairspray will stick your grips to the handlebar while rubbing alcohol is easier to remove come time to replace them. I'm sure someone will come up with other ways as well.

Nope, could never hurt. If I can add to the above advice, I'd strongly recommend against using any kind of grip glue. A. Its simply not needed when going the hairspray route, and B. Its a pain in the ***** to remove the old residue when replacing next time.
