Let me start by saying that effectiveimmediately, foreign aid to those nations on List 2 ceasesimmediately and indefinitely. The money saved during the first year alone will pretty much pay for the costs of the Iraqi war.
The American people are no longer going to pour money into third world Hell-holes and watch those government leaders grow fat on corruption. Need help with a famine? Wrestling with an epidemic? Call France.

I'm kinda surprised to see so many favorable responses to that post. I too am in favor of it (except for removing the World Cup thing).
All Americans do yourselves a favor and DO NOT vote for Hillary in 2008. Man our country would turn into a **** hole in a hurry!

re: NAFTA. Go for it. That deal has been hurting us too. The border isn't as one way as it may seem. Meat and dairy haven't been in worse shape than they are now. Forestry, oil and water are all commodities we need to... selling them across the border just drives the price up that I pay. We don't export many finished goods, but alot of raw materials come from this side of the border...
re: IRAQ... we're not there, we're in Afganistan... ideological reasons aside, someone has to be there and until we give our corresponding speach of getting out of dodge... we'll be there.
I like the speech and I'm Canadian, however, with any speech from our sideline positions we don't have to consider why we do the things we do. Sometimes pouring money into a 3rd world country is more about the side benifits, rather than actually helping out...
