Oh, I've got funny ones too. Like the time I ran over my own head and torso with my dirtbike. I sported scabs shaped like the pattern of my knobbies across my chest for about two months...to this day I don't know how I managed that one. Or my very first ride EVER, at the age of three. Pinned the throttle, straight across the yard, dead-on into a fire hydrant. I remember like it was yesterday...good times.

I'm officially freaked the f**k out right now, I dont want to ride again till I get leathers (just dont have the money right now) and till then Im riding EXACTLY the speed limit. Showed off for a bunch of kids in a school bus on the interstate by screaming (yes, D&D's scream) by at 135, now I'm scared ****less thinking how dead I could've been.

I have had many, many injuries in my life, and many hospital visits...but none from riding a street bike. I dismounted once this summer, jumped off it after my boy slammed into me doing about 40 when I was making a right turn, I let go and landed on my feet and he had a broken hip in two places...
I have been stabbed (stitches), broken my right hand (that was painful), broken my right arm/elbow (surgery required), had my head split open 2 or 3 times...now I try to not hurt myself.

I tell you what I also think these days ...
riding at, or very near the speed limit most of the time, IS NOT a bad idea
and its easy on the bike
I do let go and wind it up still , but only if the roads are very clear and are in fairly good condition and only when I am solo [X(]
Been riding a year: Went down in the7 month w/ 6k of seat time(noob [:-]). Lowside between 50-60mph into a mountain enbankment. Full Gear~rode over my ability Results:
1)Seperated LeftShoulder
2)Pulled Groin
3)Fractured Rib
4)Re-broke my already recovering hand
5)Roughly $1,800 in parts to repair the bike

Do you remember the exact moment when you knew you were going over the line ...??
( your ability as you put it ) the moment as you feel everything going to **** and in that split second, you suffer what seems to be an " hour of compressed panic " crossed with a huge cold adrenalin rush ...knowing that you've bloody done it yet again !!!!.....
Its dam chilling even to think about those moments for me ... and I have quite a few stashed away inside my head mate [:-]
Those moments freeze into your head for ever I recon ....

Once you gather a handful of different experiences and log the feeling of each into your head , its like to have a auto warning system build in each time you get near those situations the next time...
You feel those memories coming back and I think they do keep you from crossing that line without a dam good reason ever again....
ok , it took me a few times to remember them well enough
