possible hit-and-run !
i was chillin earlier this evening w/my ps2 and fat-free cheetos (yea, as if !) when i heard a loud crash and my house seemed to shake all over
i peeked through the blinds to see this beat-up car revving up and trying to speed away so i ran outside towards the common drive-way to catch the license plate ... the car didnt get too far and had stalled a few feet from the mailboxes in the shared driveway - i saw a lady inside on her celltel with a small child in the back
someone said somethin about knocking a bike down @ which she protested "no ! he ran into me"
fearing the worst i ran towards the street and see this ... this poor kid lying sprawled on the asphalt, his small cruiser lying in pieces near him
thankfully someone had called 911 so i tried my useless best to take care of the guy ... he was ok from the waist up but his legs didnt look too good so i asked him to relax and if he needed something
he asked me to let off his backpack straps since they were straining on his torso and i placed his gloves under his head as he lay sideaways
i was about to get a blanket but the medics arrived and told me to move away ... then the cops arrived and so on so forth.
turns out this celltellin' bitch(pardonnez moi francais !) in the car came driving out of the daycare across the street and
1) took this poor biker out
2) then she panicked and jumped straight OVER the divider
3) jumped OVER the curb and punctured both her front tires
4) then drove OVER the grass and grazed this old tree
5) then drove THROUGH the wall into our shared driveway (which is where i saw her for the first time)
6) almost got 150-200 feet away after which her car stalled
after the cops towed her car away, she started crying loudly making a big show ... i was so disgusted and despondent that i couldnt even find the words to curse her !

well from my last recollection, he seemed ok from the waist up ... surprising since his helmet & one of his gloves were thrown off
but i'm not too sure about his legs ... seemed like she nailed the kid pretty hard in the upper thigh (femur) area
am gonna follow the local wires to see how this ends
i will be very disappointed if she gets away

she should be dragged behind her POS car for trying to leave the poor kid for death. driving recklessly and she even had her child in the car with her! oh wait, we're a civilized culture, we should fine her $20 and pay to send her to consoling for the kid getting in her way...[sm=shootshoot.gif]
side note... celltel. love it, learning new words everyday from our riders across the pond. here on my planet, we call em mobile phones, we haven't used cellular technology as a mainstream thing for some time now. We mostly have PCS and GSM phones.

I too was once an avid wonderer or the "Cell Tell"......what the he11 is it? Thanks for clearing that up. I hope the kid is alright though. Maybe he isn't hurt too bad, the old bag had insurance, he gets a new Honda CBR 600RR for free and rides with one of us one day.
well, my time spent overseas paid off. I know what the hell a celtel is... if you ever travel... try using one of their pay phones WTF. I've never tried it sober, but when you're drunk and the damn thing has a credit card slot (you have to buy calling cards, but it looks like a credit card slot when you're closing one eye trying to remember who you're calling in the first place)... you know you're in trouble. And you know how everything in the states has that damn Spanish option, you don't get it on their phones.
countires like scotland, ireland, russia, spain, italy, uae, saudi arabia (bahrain), germany, poland and so on. most european countries had the calling card pay phones. ours in the states still basically look like a normal phone, you just enter a calling card number before dialing the phone number. i stayed away from them, i had a couple of buddies that ended up with near $500 phone bills for calling home. and that was from usvi...
umm... if you hadn't noticed, another hi-jacked thread. it's like an episode of the simpsons in here.
