(Poll) Would you track a limited edition bike?
#13
Depends on what the bike's worth and why is it so "limited".If it's just like a special color scheme or something, why not but if it's a rare bike with no spare parts available then I'd be more careful. A bike still in production and they don't even tell if they're gonna make a million of them smells like price pumping to me...
Would I track an NR750, heck no. A Dunstall-Norton Commando cafe racer, probably not, an F2 Smokin joe, hell yes. Mind you, if I had the money to buy ANY new bike, I wouldn't track it...

you can ask all these people for weeks and have few hundred answers. but in the end you already know the answear to your question. deep down you want to take her to the track and you just looking for the aproval from others. once you get her under your but, you will itch to see what she can do. you will take her to the track, and at first you will ride it like a sunday drive but with each lap going by you will be pushing it further and further. good luck on the track man.

Can you trust yourself not to push it too hard? As has been said many times, the track is inherently a safer environment than the road - no drunk or distracted drivers, no oncoming trucks encroaching on your lane, a flag man at every corner to warn you of hazards on the road, and if you do leave the track, it's a nice wide runoff, not a telephone pole or guard rail. The rest is up to you, and whether you can keep your pace well within your safety margin.
You also might want to consider getting race plastics, and keeping the street trim safe in your garage.

I would be too worried. But that's me. I'm not loaded (financially). That HP4 is my dream bike though. I was looking at first getting a new cbr 1000, then I figured for a little more I could get the s1000. I called the local BMW dealer and they had a couple new s1000's . One was still in the box. Work has cut our hours big time , but we are supposed to be getting a lot of it back. I'm still waiting to see and trying to decide what to get. I want a cruiser also. Then I think of the climate here and how short the riding season is.
