Amazing pics. I have seen most of them at one point or another but was cool to read the full story as opposed to a small caption to describe their origin. Some of the comments on that site were a bit tastless, makes you wonder whos on the other end of the text sometimes. Unreal, I couldn't even begin to desribe it.

According to my psychology teacher (we talked about this in class way long ago) the 5yo pregnant girl is VERY true, and even more ****ed up than just SOME man doing that to her, evidence pointed to her father. He denied the claims, not sure if he was ever charged, but that's the back story on that one.

I think most people would be very surprised to learn just how fukked up people are in general. I traveled to a lot of 3rd world countries and saw things that still make me shudder.

Diggin the playboy one
Especially since it has some geek history behind it

Ha, on a more serious note...

I've always been partial to the Afgan Girl photo. The expression on her face is just so intense...its hard to look away. Definitely one of the best photos taken in history.
People think the expression on her face is so intense from the war, and her eyes reflect some deep emotion expressing what she has been through. Its a nice thought, but I think the expression was more of a "WTF are doin takin my picture??" At any rate, she was a beautiful woman, and even as an adult that beauty shines through
She was interviewed several years after that picture was taken. She was definetly angry that it had been taken, said nobody asked her permission, and she didn't want the camera pointed at her. Yeah, she's saying, "Get out of here scum, and you know what you can do with that camera."

Ok the one with the baby hand I want to call BS on, because it looks an AWFUL lot like the episode of house where the same thing happened and I believe for some odd reason he was wearing yellow gloves too. Maybe the episode was based off of this article idk.

All the pictures there are true,
My favorite one is the Earthrise over the moon... Gives you some humbling perspective of how truly insignificant/fragile we are in the grand scheme of the universe. And a greater appreciation of how truly special it is to be a self aware, thinking species.

(Not to mention all the religious overtones I personally associate with seeing the order, and grandness of the universe, but that is for other forums)

I remember seeing the majority of them in my history book in school. I woke up to the 9/11 attacks so they are forever etched in my memory.
