Passed first try?
I just passed my road test today, and WOW what surreal experience ...
the test for my British Columbia (Canada) unrestricted class 6 was a full hour of being followed by an
instructor in a car,giving instructions\directions via 2-way radio.
anyway, needless to say i am ecstatic...i may not sleep tonight .
(now to take the safety course....)
i was wondering if any members had to retake the road test ?
i was told by the instructor that many good riders fail first attempt.
is this true?

Yeah mine was a beotch.
First time he wanted me to do a figure 8 in very little space. It was hard enough but it didn't help that at the time of the test I hadn't had the opportunity to get much seat time on my bike (I bought it in november and was at school the whole time while the bike was home).
The second time they help you out a lot and he made the figure 8 like twice as big

I passed my Riders test in 1969, I was a (double decker) bus conductor then, working out of Ryde depot. Knew the license guy at the motor registry from being on one of my routes. In those days all you did to get your license was multiple choice questionnaire, eye test & the road test, which was a quick ride around the block (no one went with you, they just waited for you to come back) Then a quick emergency brake & your away. I didn't even get that far, he just asked if I thought it was going to rain. I said yes & that was my license test.

Same with the MSF class. I don't think I actually ever had a M class permit before the actual class - but I could be wrong.
