The second street attracts a similar crowd but due to a lack of parking spaces a lot of bikers congregate there. You'll see some nice bikes but most are Gixxers and stretched busas. Some of these posers will rev the **** out of the bikes when girls pass. Do these guys really believe they will get girls this way?

That being said, I was out riding this weekend (prior to to meeting up with JP) with a couple other CBR's at one light kids in the car next to us opened the window and screamed "Make some noise, we want to hear your bikes!" so, we were happy to honor their request...but otherwise I would have just sat there waiting for the light to turn green.

I've owned my share of performance oriented machinery, musclecars that I rebuilt, sportbikes, etc. The rider/driver in me loves them for their performance. The builder/modder in me loves them for their build quality and the quality of the mods and work I do to them, including appearance.
I didn't rebuild a 70 nova to leave it primer black, i made it shiny. I didn't choose my series of bikes and bike mods just cause they we're pretty, I wanted performance. These things aren't mutually exclusive. I can ride just as well as most, better than many... on a pretty bike. And if there's a chance to show off and discuss with others what I've done to my rides and see what they did to theirs that's just good fun with peers. It's all a balance.
To leave a bike I spent alot of time working on looking like **** isn't a sign of being a real rider, for me it's a sign that I don't take pride in my work. I don't polish and wax to impress others, for me it falls into general care and maintenance (that's not done nearly enough). Having something pretty and well maintained doesn't mean you can't ride it anymore than having something that looks like *** means you can. Who gives a crap as long as they like what they have and can actually ride it. Only ones who bother me are the ones who trailer their bikes somewhere to show off all the mods they paid someone else to do... posers.

I don't think that everyone who likes to make their bike look nice, enjoys crushing the strip, going to shows etc can't ride. I know plenty of guys who drag knees on da trackk not just the strip and enjoy sitting around.
I'm not exactly a slouch on the ol' bike myself, but I sure as hell enjoy looking good doing it
hhahah - yeah not gonna lie. Thats a pretty good one. Consider that saved to the file. Good pull Awkward

LOL, that Gene Wilder one is awesome.
Again, I'm not the norm, I don't like most motorcycle riders...I'd rather be welding up an old cafe racer than sipping on coffee at the local starbucks staring at my bike. That's what the majority of riders around here are..."Street Killers"...**** IMO. I commute every day on one of three bikes, and do trackdays once a month usually...I'm not all that worried about the chain sling I have going on.
