Never heard of fuel going bad in just one week. My wifes bike has sat for well over a month before and not had a fuel problem.
I'd start by checking to make sure you were getting spark at the plugs and go from there.

And how would i go about doing that?...would a low battery charge have anything to do with it?

If the lights are dim (check with your brights also) then it's your batt just hook it up to a small charger and let it charge for 30 mins and it'll fire right up. But remember some people forget don't use a car battery to jump it. That's WAY too much juice and will fry your bike.
Explain that to me. 12 volts dc, is 12 volts dc. Yes, there is more amp potential, but only if the starter/bike is calling for it. If it is asking for more amps, it is because there already is a problem with the bikes componets. I hear this many times and as a card carrying electrician, it never made any sense to me.
Well i left it on the chrager all night but

I was reading my manual last nite in a freznied state and came across the section about flooding the engine.I think i did with all the times i tried to start it.I could smell gas but there wasnt any spark.I read other boards that talked about BAS and yadda yadda coils...but knew and hoped somewhere deep down in the bottom of my gut it was just a low battery.Well i held it wide open and cranked 5 seconds...i did it three times..and on the 4th attempt...WINNER...its was like it was almost happy to be running...belchin smoke and the like..i let it get up to temp and then without the seat took it over to the parking lot across the street for a few mins of 5k rpm runs...even did a few front wheel ups...im sooo not ready for that...but i think its safe to say after i ride today then thats it for this battery...ill take it out and then just get a new one next season.. I do thank everyone for all your input not only in this thread but every thread we have ever started..this is a knowledgeable group of mis mosh...LOL...and im glad im a member

Your first post and to your fix... you never have to apply throttle to any FI engine to start it. I had this happen to me once. My bike always starts with the slight touch of the button. I rode one day and tried the next, but it didn't fire right up. I tried the starter two or three times for a second or two, but nothing. I told my dad and brother to get ready to push me down a hill so I could try a bump start. While they were walking over I held in the start button for what seemed like 10 seconds then it started like yours did. Abad miss, smoking and I held the throttle at higher RPM, around 10k I believe then it was perfect. Never did it again. WTF... Don't have a clue so I chalked it up to dirty fuel, maybe something in the fuel filter and was planning on ordering a new filter and cleaning out the tank. Forgot about it until now...
You can jump a bike from a car if you really have to, but like CBRFREEK said... never do it with the car running. You will smoke the charging system on your bike
