i think its real....look at the riders feet on the ground, and almost looks like a 1 foot blackmark from the riders right boot dragging.

I dont buy it either frankly. The headlight fine, that to me is clearly a dragstrip, so thats a non issue. I would just like to know how you manage to hit and take off the tail and the windscreen. Yet both look unharmed, no big hit mark on the tail like looping it, and it looks like the windshield came off without a scratch too. I dont buy that.

What is in front of the rider? Between his arm and helmet.

I think the photo is real and the bike is chopped in. The original bike is probably still going forward and out of the pic and that dude is just falling after loosing it.

as for the chop...blurry back ground...happens with a telephoto lens on a nice camera

looks like he just looped his turbo busa

Telephoto lens is certainly one way of doing it. Also having small aperture set on the camera will help obtain a similar depth of field. The graininess of the picture would indicate a higher speed setting. I'm not 100% sure where the windscreen broke off, but there is a small piece in between the bike and rider. The tail.. the underside would have hit the ground and pulled it off.

I say real.

I*m very familiar with telephoto lenses and take quite a few pics myself .. telephoto lenses usually blend the edges, they don*t make it look like cut and paste. Look carefully at all the pieces of the bike and the rider. Each are completely separate distances from the camera yet they are the only items with a certain contrast ratio in the pic, everything else, even the grass surrounding it are completely different as if taken by a totally different camera at a different time. Another thing is, that tail section looks to be the same distance from the camera as the rider yet it looks huge as compared with the riders head. If it*s real, it*s a very odd looking photo but I don*t think it is.

O.P., where did the pic come from? That may shed some light on it.

One thing I can't do is make a clear windscreen show the original image underneath. Would P.S. help?
In addition to the method mentioned, you can also use opacity levels in PS to make it look right. It isn*t easy but if the original pic has nothing behind the screen (like a white background) it is much easier.

Someone should start a *Is it Real?* thread just for fun so we can just debate if pics are real and don*t jack threads LOL

that thing inbetween the riders armsitshis seat. that gets bolted into the frame. as you can see he is running a solo tail so there would be no way for that seat to be ripped off or i should say it is highly unlikely

Couldnt tire smoke account for the haze in the background? I mean its slight, but dragstrips are smoky places...

If he launched and flipped, I could see the windscreen being knocked off with his helmet or flailing arms, dont they hunch down on the tank for "aerodynamics." lol
