Organic vs. Regular i guess..?
whats up with the organic bull**** at the supermarkets. i work in the produce department and it just pisses me of that they have apples, and organic apples. does anyone buy this ****?
Organic is good stuff. People just hear "organic" and automatically think hippy. What do you think the fruit and vegges are at flea markets and the dude selling watermelons on the side of the highway.
my question is, what makes something (like fruit) non-organic? does that mean they just keep off pesticides and growth hormone type stuff? i know i bought a bbq sauce that said organic, didnt know exactly what they meant.

off the web "Organic foods are produced according to certain production standards, meaning they are grown without the use of conventional pesticides, artificial fertilizers, human waste, or sewage sludge, and that they were processed without ionizing radiation or food additives. Livestock are reared without the routine use of antibiotics and without the use of growth hormones."
