RE: Only 3
GSXR and Kwaka's are normally bought by the aspiring to have the most hp or whatever toted by the mags.... they never realize that the rider is 80% of the equation...
Learned this the hard way in my early year of riding nearly 20 years ago... Honda Goldwing guy stuck with me and pretty much ran circles around me in some basic leaning turns - 20ish - 40ish mph... Sparks everywhere, but he made a good point since he was my MSF course Instructor and rode that tank for years.... Comfortable, cautious, yet calculating and able to ride the top of the envelope gave him the edge I didn't have! Learned my braking, apex and exiting strategies alot better cus of him...
It seems a little older crowd rides the R1 now, not during its debut! Hot bike!
Honda seems to bring the divine to the table - those who are imersed in their riding and want to learn how to better their riding while unleashing the beast and not having to reign her in so often as with the other first two I mentioned. I've ridden all the late 2000 models of the other manufacturers and the Yam is the only one that is nearly as refined as the CBR... MY PERSONAL View only, but I can't get enuff of riding with everyone else no matter what steel horse they're on!!!

RE: Only 3
I have a tough time finding people to ride with, only one of my friends has a bike, and he's afraid of it. Let me know the next time y'all are headed to Seattle, I'm here at Roy, right on the East side of Ft. Lewis.
Yes, I've noticed that Gixxer's and Yama's are the rage... don't really know why though, I think the CBR is a MUCH better looking bike... My humble opinion though...
