Talking OldFatGuy is back - well sort of...

Hey everyone... long time no post for me. A lot changed for me since I was on here last. I changed jobs, moved to the country and bought a small horse ranch. Several folks on here got in touch with me on a couple of different occasions, and I appreciate them checking up on me.

Anyway, I promised some of them I would post pics of my new location and new hobby - I still have the 1000RR, but will probably sell it this spring :-(

Here are some pictures of the place we bought - some before and after pics. The place had been setting empty for a while and weeds were starting to take control. When you have weeds in your yard, it's a pain -- when you have weeds on 17 acres, then it's a major job.

Before Pics:

Some of the weeds

From a Distance

House

Garage

Inside Barn

From the back pasture - since it's so flat out here, the house is surrounded by trees for protection from the wind and some shade in the summer

The Northern rear pasture

The wife along the front fence line

Driveway

And these are the AFTER pictures. It took a lot of work to get rid of the weeds and get the property whipped into shape. For some strange reason, I find it relaxing - and I used to HATE mowing my little yard. I even was able to bale enough hay to last me the winter.

Baling hay (I had never done anything like this before!!!)

My first tractor (I can't believe I have 2 tractors!)

After the hay was baled (hay rake and horses in the background)

My best buddy

Recent snow

Our first horse boarders

Weeds in the round pen were about 8 feet tall - now the horses love the grass mixture

LAST ONE...

I hope this wasn't too boring (this is off topic, right?), it's just what I've been doing for a while. I love it out here except all the roads are flat and straight - not too great to ride the 1000rr on at all. This spring we will sell the 1000 and the wife's shadow, but we'll keep the Goldwing for taking some trips.

I'll probably be on here from time to time. I sure do miss some of you guys. I was looking around and a lot of the old gang is gone.

Welcome back. Nice pics, kind of place I'd like to get, as far away from neighbors as possible. You win the lottery or is it one of those 'Witness protection' things I keep hearing about over there?

Good to hear from you again, OFG. That looks like fun, except for all those straight roads. Good luck with the new venture, and stay in touch!
