That OH **** moment
Ever have one?
The most recent one happened yesterday at about 4am on my way to work. I was on my bike and i just got gas. As im driving i remember i didnt press the reset button. So i go to reset it. (on the 09 you have to hold it for 3 seconds before it resets and a tap will change the MPH to KMPH). I look at my speed a few mins later and was like HOLY CRAP 97!!!!! I then see that i changed MPH to KMPH. I was only doing around 50. lol
The first one i had on a bike was driving my it home from texas. I was on the freeway in the fast lane and i looked down at the right side of my bike for about 5 seconds. When i looked up i was about 1-2ft away from the wall on my left. I managed to swerve and stay up. Made me realise that just a few seconds of distraction can be fatal.
Anyone have a good story?

Had one today going to work.. Taking a turn like i do every day.. The Stop Lights are always the same (I drive it 6 days a week and its always the same and i can time it perfectly.... In fact... 1 turns green means the one around the bend will be green as well.. and then you make the left turn and that one will be green as well.. With the one after it being red for 5 seconds.. Wait for it.. All the lights turn green till i have to turn right at which that light is red.. NOW! if i get stuck at the light i have to turn right at.. and i dont turn till that light turns green the next light is red.. So i have to turn right while that light is red in order to get the next light to be green and free sailing all the way to work..) well today.. light turns green.. Assume the light around the bend is going to be green.. Look down at my speedo for a second look up.. Lights red.. Cop about to go through intersection.. Hit breaks... do a nice little stoppie (i dunno if its classified as a stoppie but i call it one) and have that mini heart attack.. hahaha! It only takes a second for things to go from great.. to bad..

Wow today sure has been a dangerous day
I had one today also, pulling up to a gas pump, I was looking around trying to find an open spot, (my leather gloves tend to get a bit sticky on the grips when it's hot) so as I was looking around I went to let up on the gas and my glove stuck a bit and kicked it, I wasn't holding on like I should and almost launched the bike into the side of a truck. I was able to get my grip and stop it just in time

My "Oww Chhitt" was many years ago now, running an (almost) street legal MX bike.
Popped a huge wheelie past a quite slow moving line of traffic between lights, only to get to the front of the queue to discover they were all being so law abiding because there was a police car at the front of the line.
Whoops.

yesterday I pulled out of the gravel parking lot at work, right behind a semi. I didn't have my visor down yet (it was so Fin hot) and the semi had kick a little dust in my eyes... well I instantly closed them and flipped my visor down but when I reopened my eyes I was face to face with the brake lights of the semi who was making a right turn.... had to slam on the breaks to keep from rear ending it...

The most exhilarating "oh ****" moment was right before I purchased my last bike. I had heard that the '01 R1 had problems with rounded off 2nd gears and the only way to test it was to give it the beans a bit in 2nd. Mind you, my previous bike was a 250. So here I am in the middle of Seoul on a weekend with a crap ton of traffic, I notice a clear straight, throw it into second and give it a tug, my front wheel comes up like wtf... all I can say is I'm glad the thing had a steering damper.
One of the scariest ***-clenching "oh ****" moments happened when I was on my way home from work through some twisties and around a blind corner a truck had come to a full stop. I was pretty leaned over when I saw it, but got it close to stood up, locked up the rear, and came about a foot or so from crashing... bike came in fishtailing. Thinking back it was pretty cool, but I was constipated for a week after that.

Last year I was going around a roundabout in heavy traffic moving a decent speed and took my eyes off the cars in front of me to look to my right because coming up thats the direction I had to go. As soon as I looked back straight a car further up the roundabout after where im supposed to get off hit their brakes hard resulting in every car behind then slamming on their brakes.
I had split seconds to react and thankfully I did but not without going up on my front wheel in a (accidental) stoppie, I stopped literally inches away from the car in front of me. Although I crushed my manhood a little I got some nice cheers from the cars behind me, but damn that was scary.

Biggest oh **** moment was when I crossed the yellow line on a tight right hander I rode regularly. I was pushing a lot harder than normal (hot girl that I used to work with behind me that liked to watch me ride my bike on the way home). Luckily the road isn't very traveled and I got it back into my lane as fast as possible. There's a small bump about 7/8ths the way through the corner and it upset the balance of the bike so I had to run wide. After that I didn't ride even moderately aggressively for 2 weeks. Never again.
