Default oh hai

not sure with the new "code of conduct" and removing of "off topic" threads in the off topic section if this is the proper place to post in..

what is going on peeps?

i am wanting to come back and be a "productive" member of this fine site....but amalittle baffledwith some of the new "changes" i am seeing......

have all the bugs been worked out yet? kinda find it funny to start enforcing a "code of conduct" without getting all the bugs fixed....seems like trying to fix the rudder of the boat when there is a huge hole in it at the same time.......

If by "fun" topics you mean How many licks to the center of a tootsie pop ... or an I'm leavin cause I'm pissed and too lazy to make the forum better thread, then you are CORRECT! If you mean we will no longer tolerate a single member replying with short, often aggressive/offensive posts in practically every thread to boost post count, then you are CORRECT! If you are talking about the few members that refuse to PM each other and hijack threads to say hey to their peeps, then you are CORRECT!

The fun is gone. The beatings will continue until moral improves

I highly suggest that all who believe we intend to micromanage the site or take away your ability to post topics of personal interest in off topic read the 'code' post again, a little slower, and pay attention. That is not what was written or intended. However, the off topic area will be more closely moderated and useless posts will be removed. The moderators will have control over what is useless ... wow, just like at almost any other place you go to except the free for all sites where you get flamed for merely existing.

And just so every one is aware, more threads bemoaning how unfair we are being or how one might be "unsure" of correct behavior will also be stricken from the site If you have an issue PM a staff member and we will discuss it. Think that has been posted like 100 times today but still a lot of you guys are having trouble with that one.

may i suggest what another forum i frequent does?....they have a penalty system.....you aquire so many negative points issued to you by the mods and you get a temporary banned........if it is a big thing....you get perma banned
this makes for very "honest" and "fair" practices by the power hungry mods who feel it is their destiny to change everyones veiwpoints and abilitly to discuss freely in a forum

not sure why we have to pm the mods with our "concerns"...? how does that really showor voice our concern for how things are operated? this seems to me like a way to sweep things under the carpet.......

change is always something that some/most will be ok with......its the few that seem to make it a big problem and never really give it a chance to materialize to see if its something that will work for themselves....

i would sooooo respond to this....but i am afraid that it would be considered "hi jacking" and i think we should keep these banters between us to pm's

on a side note.....i was entering for my novice season but then realized that i am super slow and they do not allow training wheels in the novice class

We do have a system that takes place behind the scenes. Gives all the staff an opportunity to weigh in on important issues. My mods are not power hungry nor do they force their point of view on anyone.

not sure why we have to pm the mods with our "concerns"...? how does that really showor voice our concern for how things are operated? this seems to me like a way to sweep things under the carpet.......
Unfortunately some can not act as adults should and discuss opposing views without the conversation deteriorating into a shouting match. So for touchy issues we prefer to communicate through PMs. This should not be construed as sweeping it under the carpet. Someone actually has a better chance pleading their case one on one with me than trying to one up me in the open forum. I believe this goes for the rest of our staff as well.

I could not agree more.

And thanks for taking the personal stuff to the PM place. We do have an area of the board for racing, but it's usually dead ... everybodys in OT [8D] You have made a very productive thread ... now wasn't that fun
