how did they beach it did something happen or just crew error
They apparently pumped out the bilge water, (that should have kept it lower in the water), but with the big swell, the propellers & rudder where out of the water most of the time, lucky it didn't come in side ways, the crew had to be rescued by air lifts from a chopper. The poor guy that actually went down to bring em up got zapped with huge static discharges each time he hit the deck. Considering the weather at the time, these guys risked their lives big time to get the crew off.

I hope they have the webcam running while they try to get it off the beach! That would be neat to watch.

Yeah, their saying the high tides at the end of the month. But there are bets going that they won't be able to budge it. Especially since where in the middle of the 3rd big storm to hit us in two weeks. 30 foot waves & 70 mph winds forcast ( Heres a map showing the storm forming off the coast) don't think it big, thats New Zealand to the east. Their worried that the ship may start to break up. if it don't stop raining soon, would not be supprised to see it going down my street. Its only about 2 clicks from me.

What's your bet pacemaker? It might be fun to start a poll.

I was thinking that you guys would be thinking "just a boat on a beach" So I found a couple of pics that may help put it into a better perspective. To draw on an iconic Aussie movie, "This is a boat"

Looks like a beautiful place to live... minus the big ass boat. Did you hear that thing run aground?

No, the storm was huge. To busy worrying how high the water was going to go inside my house. Yeah its a nice place, beaches, pubs, cafes & Ice addicts. I moved here a couple of years ago, not to many bike roads as close to my old place.
