Default A note of thanks as I depart

Team, you might have noticed my conspicuous absence this last 6 months or so. I was riding WorshipCycle through spring after this last winter's layup to rebuild the carbs.

I got antsy for a Motorcycle Support Vehicle. I traded that beauty (natch, after the honor of being elected Bike of the Month in March) to a feller for a pickem-up truck of peculiarly-old vintage (think first Clinton admin). With some minor wrenching it became my only cage-like device as I sold my hated Stuperoo for a bit of the ol' cold-hard.

I drive it daily and it's a winter beater. I took some of the windfall from the sale of Other Thing and bought a clean little '09 KLX 250 s. It was a great bike, but PEEPS, I gotta tells ya, I was missin' the Power and the Glory of street riding.

I put up an offer on Craigslist for a trade and ran into some of "Craigslist's Finest," so to speak. I thought all was for naught, then I ran into a feller who wanted to trade his 23k mile Ducati 748 for my KLX. We rode each other's bikes and we fell in love with them, making the trade last night at a local eatery.

It's a bit rough around the edges, and needs a little work to be a superb bike, but it's fast and fun and I'll be street riding again. HOO-RAAAHH! I will miss you lot - you people were some of the most knowlegeable and sanguine scooter scum I've ever run into. I hope those folks on the Ducati forum are half as nice and friendly as you people.

See you folks on the road!

It's a good point. I can check back here without being an outsider. You folks are Cool Like That.

I wish I could have just kept the Honda AND that Kwak. Both were amazing bikes in their own way...

But knowing me, I'd want the Ducati, too! I guess, though, I don't have unlimited funds.
