Is this normal? Nasty road rash picture inside. Beware
yup, thats normal. i had an off a lil over a month ago, and thats what it looked like until i stopped wearing heavy guaze. try to wear shorts as much as you can so you can let it breath.
now, i'd say to ditch the hydrogen peroxide as it won't be helping anymore since you've got it cleaned. you can use it after you wear jeans, or get heavy dirt stuck in it. but try to just use anti-bacterial soap and neosporin. hydrogen peroxide kills everything, and after a while, it starts to work against you when youre healing.

Yup, to all above. Bandages are for active times, to protect. Any chance you get, relaxing at home, etc. take off the bandages and let air get to it. Keeping a thin glaze of neosporin can help too, less scaring. At least that's my story. ;-)

I've been an EMT for a long time, and I will say that it looks normal to me. Just keep it clean, and like many have already said, when you got some down time, let it air out. Clean it up with anti-bacterial soap, pat it dry, and let it air out for a little while before you put anything on it. Then when you gotta put something on it, use whatever medicated ointment you got and wrap it up.
Good luck. Glad you're ok too.

Cool thanks for all the help guys. I wish i could wear shorts to work but without a doctor note they wont let me. Im not about to go sit in a hospital for a few hours just to try and get one.

Just so everyone is aware, this is horrible advice. Road rash heals a hell of alot easier than broken backs, necks, arms and legs. Wear gear that lets you slide and just skid your *** down the road. Trust me, I've done it both ways. There's a reason you don't see motogp riders suffer a get off then try to cartwheel down the road.

if the doctor told you to clean it with peroxide everyday he must know what he's talking about, but ive always heard thatyou peroxide it once or twice the first day but then not anymore, because peroxide kills everything, including the cells that help heal your wound.
but it looks normal to me, ive had deep scrapes before from biking, rollerblading, etc and theyve looked like that. def try to let it dry and cover it as little as possible, i had back surgery and it took weeks for my incision to heal because i had it covered most the time, i finally started leaving my shirt off all the time when i was home and it helped alot.
