RE: NOOO!!!! WB Goes Exclusivley Blue-Ray!
Not up on the Blue-Ray devices, but what does this mean for us regular DVD guys? Do the Blue's and HD's play on the standerd players (I do understand you won't get the same quality) or are we going to be forced into buying these new machines?
The wife buy's and rents all the DVD's so I don't even look at the packages.

Yeah, I don't know the diffence either. I usually pick up DVD's when they're less than 10$ unless it's something I absolutely love.

Blue rays can only be played on specific blue ray disc readers... but if you've got a PS3 your safe... In my honest opinion blue ray looks kinda funky... the characters appear to be more cartoonish looking to me

Have you seen HD DVD enough to comment? I do know that the HD players (all?) allow you to play both regular and HD dvd's.

Yeah, Blu ray uses a different wavelenth of laser (More towards the "blue" side of the spectrum) that allows it to pack more information into a disk.
Unfortunatey it also makes it impossible to have regular DVD players read the format.
Not sure if a BluRay player can read CD/DVDs though.
