Think hockey is only sport remaining that players can take off gloves and go one hard round....no other sport can do that, Metta World Peace got 7 games for an elbow...

If the ban fighting from hockey it will be garbage.
Fighting there was like my old high school fighting, You throw them till the guy goes down, maybe give him an extra shot when he is on the ground and its done.
If they take fighting out, then soon after they will want to take checking out, Then you might as well wear figure skates if all the roughness is gone.

It would be like if the NFL went to flag football.

I live near Philly and am a huge flyers fan. I think the way the team is heading they aren't that tough intimidating team they used to be. And the fighting they do isn't what it used to be 10 years ago. They are trying to protect the players from injury during the fight...? If both drop gloves they know what to expect, let them go until one quits or they fall down.

Concussion....if players begin to die from their injuries...they'll clean up thr sport....but we bring kids to these games....i understand hard checks...but dropping gloves & throwing down...bad influence to our kids......how about bounty? I can have my weak players punch your best players lights out...

I agree with Nate. Whenever we had issues with people at school you would fight after school win some lose some, few weeks everyone forgot about it. Now kids get picked on and bring in guns not hockey sticks. So I don't think it influences them as much as people think. It should also be explained that they get paid and only they are okay to fight in hockey, not kids. And then what about what they say during hockey games when they get mad... U can't tell me u can't read their lips. All sports are getting soft, I've stopped watching football because of all the bs. And for this round go caps! Because the flyers haven't beaten the rangers all season so just for this round only go caps!

^^ It compliments my screen name and avatar quite nicely.

But yeah... on the violence thing.... it's hockey. When it's no longer aggressive and kickass, it's no longer hockey.
