New Wheels
Quick question:
When you change tires do you only change the rubber? Do they pry off the rubber (tires) from the rim? Or do they replace the rim as well? I was thinking if they replaced the rim along with the tire, I could ask for different colored rims.
Also in regards to this; has anyone changed the stock rims for different look or color?
Thanks!

JP, yes they just change the tire. Rims can be changed very easy. If there is nothing wrong with them and you like the design, you can powder coat or paint the rim.
Motorcycle tires/rims work the same as cars. You have to mount and balance them. They are tubeless.

Not knowing anything about tire changing doesnt mean he shouldnt be on a bike. Sure it's a little foolish to think they give you free metal rims every time you change them but I've thought worse things then that before :P
that being said the wheels on my F4i are powder coated BLUE and look great but you have to clean colored rims much more often then black ones.
Break dust builds up after 1 ride.

What gets the rims changed out with the tires? Anything here, even lawn mowers don't get new rims..... lol.
Better yet just tell them to change the rims to a different color when you take the bike in. see what happens
