Default New Car!

Last saturday I went car shopping because a while back I backed into a mailbox in mine and left a large crease along the left side of the car. I came out with a black 2002 mustang GT with only 36k miles =)! They gave me too good of a deal on my mustang for me not to trade it in. Ill post pictures later when I take some.

nice choice. and with the incredible cost of gas the v6 will help you out. just put a dual exhaust on and everyone will think its a v8.

Grats on yer new M'stang!

Always loved the 5.0's of the early 90's. Love the whistling the car produces as it speeds by.

Raced one on a stretch of highway from N.C to S.C back in the days.

Nissan Datsun 280Z doing 140 mph couldn't even catch up to the Mustang 5.0.

Too scare to punch her any harder, only had S rated cruising tires 70's too not even 60's series tire!

I think the 2000+ M'stang needs to raise the back end a bit and the tires needs to be wider, both front and back!

nevermind,

in his siggy it say 3.8. the 3.8 is a v6. he must be talking about a different car. didnt read the post careful enough. also a 2002 gt would be IIRC the 4.6 not the 5.0. I believe the 5.0 stopped in 95. 95-04 was the 4.6. I used to have a "rare" 5.0 notchback. sold it. needed a communter car.

Used to be my baby:

congrats, i've got an '02 Mustang GT myself and i love it. got just over 70,000 miles and not a single mechanical problem. i haven't done a whole lot to it, just 3.73's, Steeda cat-back exhaust (going to do headers and x-pipe when i can afford it), CAI+75mm throttle body and upper intake plenum, and a flash tuner to open things up a bit (made a big difference, stock timing and fuel curves are way conservative). i haven't had it dyno'd, but i beat an '06 GT that had aftermarket exhaust and same gearing, so i'd estimate i'm a few HP over the 300 mark. after i graduate i plan on pulling the motor out and doing a complete rebuild. i'm gonna put a forged stroker bottom end (i believe this makes it somewhere close to a 5.0), port work on the heads and intake, more aggressive cams, and a supercharger. it's been a few years since i've built an engine so i can't wait get some pics up when you can, i might go outside and take some pics of mine (haven't taken any since i put stripes and Eibach springs on it)

when i was car shopping a couple years ago, i found a used WS6 that an elderly man was selling for dirt cheap. he was being confined to a wheelchair after a work-related accident so he just wanted to get rid of the car. so what happens? his grandson takes it out and wrecks the f*cker a couple days after i told him i wanted to buy it. fortunately i hadn't gone to the bank and signed anything yet. i ended up getting the '02 Mustang GT. i've always like the look of the Mustang over the Camaro and Trans Am... that body style just never did it for me. even if the Mustang is underpowered, i've got my 929 to ride fast on
