Default Need help, Trade offer for the 54

I just got a call about a trade for my 954. Guy says he has a 07 CBR 600rr,9400miles well maintained blah blah blah custom painted so maybe its been down before(i dunno ill ask him, i just spoke to him for a few seconds now). He says he wants to trade straight up which seems to me like he would be getting the short straw in that trade for sure. Claims he just wants a bigger bike cuz he is tall and that bike cramps him. he lives right near me and said we can meet whenever.

what do ya'll think? Im thinking that there has to be something real shatty about that 600 that he wants to trade it straight up for my bike. But im going to check it out and see.

My bike 02 954, 12500 miles, few mods, nothing major or real expensive.

question you should be asking is why YOU would want to step down to a 600rr from your 954

five years newer of a bike, probably 3k or so more value, hell i could just sell it and get a nicer 954. Gotta remember havoc, im a poor college student so if someone wants to throw a bike at me that is worth 3k more, i cant really pass it up if its legit. I do see your point though, it would hurt to step down but still.

I think if you have an opportunity to come out in the end, do it. Just make sure the 600 is legit.

Or you can do a even trade bro for the six then sale the six and buy another five four and make some money out of it! Its a win win situation, if it really is worth 3k more then you can profit from it and buy something like chromed out fairings?!!!

if you can flip it for a profit and get back on a nice 929/954 then do it but if you end up just flippin it and not coming out ahead then is it really woth it ?

^not at all if i dont come out ahead. After looking around though id say if i really played it out well, and that is a clean and nice 600 then i could probably sell that bike for about 2k more than mine. My bike is not all that clean, does not have the proper forks on it at the moment(i have them theyre just not on), no front fender on it(also have it), some right side scratches(getting custom paint this winter). I think the 07 would be a smoother, more well put together bike, but i dont know, ive never rode anything new than an 04. I think i will meet with him, ride the bike and then sleep on it for a few nights. I had big plans for the 954 this winter so i dont know, logic is starting to tell me to stay with the 954.
