Hey kidcr3, no offense but we do eat lions and bears they are actually pretty good to eat. If what you shoot is something to brag about and eat the more power to you.

Mother nature is a cruel bitch. IF you didn't hunt coyotes, the deer population would drop as was said before. Then the coyotes would be out of food - they would starve, and most likely look for new food sources. If they were crowded by humans, then they would try and see what they could get from humans. They'd die back in numbers, and then the cycle would begin again... the deer would have fewer preditors, the coyotes would be having less pups ( # of pups is related to how much food there is available)... the deer population would rebound.

Don't kid yourselfs - mother nature if left to her own ways would dole out prosperous times and famine times as the balance saw fit. The element the hunters I think are correct about is that we don't want to be hastled by coyotes. We see them as lesser animals than deer, and certainly fear coyotes more than deer.

If a hunter HONESTLY beleives and subscribes to a more gentle version of mother natures balancing game... and truely understands that as a result sometimes the balance needs to be shifted the way they are not used to... then fine- there is a time and a place for bounty killing.

Personally I do hunt. I hunt when the number of deer are high, and I pick the deer that won't affect the population as much as another. I don't shoot young bucks, or bucks in their prime. I have taken a few old bucks beyond their prime, and I have taken a buck where there were too many. I have only taken one doe... and that was because provincial hunting rules had damn near wipped out bucks and there was a huge heard of does... younger stock and breeding bucks were needed... not old does. When the numbers are bad I don't hunt... I just walk with my camera.

If every hunter considered their actions we'd be alot better off... same goes for the sportbiking community.

Woot.

Is frying fish any better than frying cats? Someone has fallen to the cuddly eye rule of caring about animals.

Im from Roswell, Pat but i Live in Cruces now. I've never ridden the hatch silver road, if you go get in touch with me it might be fun.
