I believe the Side challenges were put in place so that people that couldn't participate in the main challenge could do something while the main challenge was going on... This is how i see it in my mind....
Main Challenge board "oh **** i cant do that its 150 miles away"
Side Challenge board "ohhhh yeeeeeaaaaaaaahhhhh i can do that"
Probably cut down on 1/2 of the people that are upset that they cant do the Main challenge. I say Side Challenges Live on!
