Question Motorcycle Carriers? Experiences?

Anyone ever try one of these?

I usually rent a trailer from u-haul whenever I need to take the bikes anywhere. 14 bucks a day ain't bad.

But these look pretty convenient. One day i'll get around to a full blown trailer, but don't have the space at the moment.

sport bike motorcycle carrier | eBay

These types - http://www.ebay.com/itm/600LB-MOTORC...f2600c&vxp=mtr

Anyways - thoughts / concerns / questions / comments / EXPERIENCES?

I have a newer model Chevy Tahoe with upgraded towing capacity. has the Tongue strength. Mild worried about the carry weight / shocks but i'm sure 450ish pounds in the back probably wouldn't be more than it could handle.

they are sketchy......

moped or scooter maybe, but not my cbr. i had to use one to tow and old bike for teardown at a different location. it rocked and swayed, and loaded the truck down the entire way. i thought it was going to break.

i was actually talking about these yesterday because i saw a car carrying a little mini bike on it and i was wondering if they could hold ours. I was wondering if the hitch could handle that weight on it but it looks like they can (i was more so worried about going over a bump or something and the weight on the way down bending or snapping the hitch or whatever). Id be interested to hear any experiences as well since it might be something id use.

Yeah they look like they could be legit. Not sure the benefits outweigh the potential disasters though.

I would buy something like this

Sport Bike Single Rail FLATBED Carrier 4x5 Motorcycle Trailer Kit | eBay

But I'd much rather have something with 2 rails...

Alas - I'm starting to lean towards continuing to use u-haul.

Geez I dont know.

For like $300 you can get a folding bare frame trailor from harbor freight, bolt down a couple of wheel tracks and your done.

Then you can just lean it against the side of your house or the wall in a garage.

Before the box trailor we had one something like this...

Utility Trailer 4'x8' - Heavy Duty Folding Utility Trailer

If you have a truck, why not just get ramps and some straps and drive it into the bed of the truck? I've transported my bike like that...

Yeah Trucks work good - I once hauled Trouts old yellow Hurricane from TN to PA
had my own bike in a 5 x 8 enclosed trailer in the back. Clearly mine was more valuable
than his

Don't think I'd go that route Nate - good for a light moto x maybe but not a good
sized CBR - I'm thinking - rear ender sammich - only 3 vehicles end up getting
pranged not the usual 2

Hells yeahhhh big boss Tahoeee. Can't really find any people that have used them. I tried searching on various forums but that wasn't that useful.

I'm leaning away from the idea at this point.
