Another case of the cops seeing a kid on a sportbike. I did a report on motorcycle safety for my college speech class and truth be hold the average age for a person to crash and or/die while riding a motorcycle isn't the kids on the sports bikes, its the 42-54 year old who's going through a mid life crisis and hasn't riden a bike before but has the money to buy a 600+lb harley or chopper. These are the same people that rarely take the safety classes, wear gear other than a mushroom looking helmet, and make their bike handle worse than it already does but adding as much chrome to it as possible.

Very interesting. You should share your paper with the folks online. I'd be interesting reading it.

(Funny how you always see the reports when it was the bikers fault but not the ones when the car is at fault....)

This one is just a statistical layout of Nebraska(where I live). Look at the average age.
http://www.dmv.state.ne.us/highwaysa...f/mc4stats.pdf

This one here is a national statistical report (good read). I got most my information from this report.
http://www-nrd.nhtsa.dot.gov/pdf/nrd...yclesTSF05.pdf

It states that in 2005 rider death by age were as follows
>30 1438 people
30-39 971 people
40+ 2143 people

This does has a good correlation with the amount of cc a persons bike has and alcohol plays a major factor in all these studies I researched. The people of this age group are more likely to ride to a bar, have a few beers, and get back on the rode.

Nearly one out of four motorcycle operators (24%) involved in fatal
crashes in 2005 were operating their vehicles with invalid licenses at
the time of the collision
Wow, 1/4 of the motorcyclists did not have a valid licence... do people really not take the test??? That scares me. Do they really want to risk the penalty if they get caught without it....

Once again we are ALL portrayed as Speed Demons with a Death Wish, and we Dont Care about Anybody but Ourselves...haha...

Insurance sure does make me feel like a jackass though...just because they think my age (19) will have something to do with me possibly doing something maybe...on my bike

Yeah statistically motorcyclist don't seem to fair to well. One report said we are I believe 32 times more likely to die on a motorcycle than a passenger car even though motorcycles only represent 3% of all vehicles on the road.

People don't understand how fragile their life is until it's too late. 80+ in a 25 on a college campus with what sounds like very little to no gear, natural selection. That sucks for the victim though, it was her time. No mention of the riders family, I wonder if they'd have a lawsuit since it appears that no one even checked on the guy until well after EMS and the fire department arrived.
