you can paste into Access - but it is NOT as easy as word/excel/paint... it is usually a wiser move with Access to use the import function.

If you need it done - and you don't have Access - make the file available to some one who does.

Although, Access is easier to retrieve the information, Access does have one heck of a learning curve and it's much more difficult to walk someone through this over the phone (and harder over the internet).

OK....

D2D, I think I was mistaken in the information that you had.

My understanding now, is that you have a single list and you want to have this information grouped together and a sorted so you can easily look up the numbers

I'm assuming you already have all the numbers in Excel.
[ul][*] Add a column name in cell A1 (just type in something, like" ProductNumber" or something. What you call it is really meaningless)[*] All of you numbers should be listed in Column A underneath of the your column name. [*] Select cell A1[*] Go to Data | Sort[*] Your column name should be showing in the first drop down box. If not, make sure "Header Row" is selected at the bottom of the box. [*] Make sure Ascending next to your column name is selected[*] Click OK - This will sort your data in ascending order, leaving your column name at that top[*] Make sure cell A1 is still selected[*] Go to Data | Subtotals[*] Make the following settings:
At each change in: <your column name>
Use function: Count
Add Subtotal to: <your column name>
Leave other settings at their default.[*] Click OK[*] On the left hand side, you will now see 3 vertical bars with the numbers 1 2 and 3 above them. Click number 2
[/ul]

If done correctly, you should now see all of your data grouped together. You will have your number, in the left column, (followed by the word count, and the actual count of that number to the right of it.
