Default make up my mind for me.....

So i have just decided that trying to build a strictly track bike is not going to happen at this point in time......

the two people that i was talking to on the forums here and the three people that i was talking to on ebay have all stopped replying to me so i took that as i either wasnt meant to build it or just not at this point in time lol.
so i have decided to pursue another route: restoration of an older model honda.

i was thinking of either a 1982 Honda CX500 TC Turbo or a 1987 Honda SuperMagna....
any opinions as to which one i should lean towards as im quiet in the middle right now lol

1982 Honda CX500Tc Turbo

Rare bike. I think the last turbo honda tried on a bike IIRC.

I loved the look of the CX500 Turbo when it came out & the later 650, they suffer a bit from turbo lag & because of the reinforced components, go like a slug off boost. but they look & feel great, real futuristic stuff. Has it got the day glo, "Turbo" written backwards on the front? they handled pretty well, but don't expect sports bike stuff. as a tourer though!! plus your not going to run into to many of threm on the road (the 750 magna had a few cam worries I believe)

I used to want that '87 Magna so bad! That solid wheel and those upturned twin-pipes were sweet. Still looks pretty good 20 years later.

see thats why im so torn loli love the look of thesupermagna and was very very close to getting one but it fell through at the last minute, and the fact that they only made it for two years makes it even harder lol but like pacemaker said the cx500 turbo has its qualities as well........ and as for the track bike i have come to the decision that i dont have the time to put into it when im only gonna use it once or twice a month and have it sit the rest of the time........ i can always justchange my bike when i need to......

The Honda Turbo may actually be worth something someday, so I could go either way on that, but what are the maintenance costs on something that complicated?

What ever you buy has to be fixable and the parts have to be cheap enough. How about an early CBR600?

I would get something like this. Totally cool looking bikes, and relatively cheap. I really like the 70's models CB350's and CB750's.
