bridgestone? I've never heard of a bike made by bridgestone. does anybody have any details or information? even better, pictures?
God yes, I'm that old. Still. They where two strokes, very good design, I had a 175 (with a rotarty gearbox - six gears, all down, flick a switch, turned in into a 5 speed, one more click down, bingo, back in neutral. no need to change back up, great in traffic. ****ty on the open road, cos if you forgot to turn the switch back, go for six gear, hit neutral and of course rev the crap out of engine, and to make matters worse you could not go back up into 5th! so you had to change gear like mad cos you didn't want to go into 1st at 60 mph and in the panic you would find neutral again, and again......)

The other one was a GT350, years ahead of it's time as far as speed and off the the line grunt. They chucked great mono's while blowing heaps of blue smoke. It took years before the others bike companies caught up. Had a seat that looked like it was made out of a plank covered in vinyl, and was just as comfortable

Told you I was old, my memory is stuffed, to much S,D, & R&R, or from inhaling to much two stoke fumes.

But the Bridgestones had 5 gears, not 6

Well the 350 GTR had 6 speeds(not a rotary shift), the twins (175 and 200's) had the 5 speeds that you could flip a lever(not a rotary shift when it was a 5 speed) and convert them to 4 speeds with the rotary shift. The singles were 4 speeds, with the rotary shift.

Yeah knew one of them had six gears, mind you I bought the 175 in 1969 and the 350 about a year later, they where unique in Australia as the main bike dealers did not want anything to do with them when they 1st came here and many where sold through car dealerships. And parts when you needed could be hard to get if you didn't want to wait weeks.
They did not have blinkers so you had to use hand signals, and because we ride on the left hand side of the road, you had to surrender the use of the throttle and the front brake when you wanted to stop or make a turn! But at least they had a kick starter.

wow! Been lovin all the responses, seems like they're doin something right at the Honda camp! Forgot to mention my first New car ever was a sweet little burgundy '90 HONDA Accord(ian) LX. Wore out the stock Michelins in 4 months!! (Especially the front right - hahahahhah) Alas, she and I parted ways when I bought a cherry red '93 FORD/mazda Probe GT (ya, i know..but redline is 7200rpm!) And many tickets later, I finally realized that COPS LOVE DUDES IN RED SPORTSCARS!!!! So after a year and a half of SUSPENSION, Bought a 96 4runnerLTD, then a 99 4runner, and after a short dip in the ocean (no joke!) it was definitely time to sell that! Just bought a ...95 Probe GT (burgundy this time) with 100,000 orig., Lady Driven kms for $6'000 cdn. And, funny enough, I'm 2 months into my current 10 month suspension!!! Irony SUCKS!!!! Especially with my BABY (954rr) sits in my GARAGE MAHAL sporting brand new PILOT boots! AT least my only 2 rides they saw so far left me with NO CHICKEN STRIPS! GoHondaGo! O ya- my Honda pressure washer kicks *** too! G$ Out.
