I've always wore cheaper motorcycle textile jackets that I didn't care about much. Now I'm a bit older with a couple kids I wanted better protection so I upgraded to a leather Alpinestars jacket with armor. Well here in Michigan there are tons of bugs all riding season and even a short ride I come back with bug guts everywhere. I feel like I'm constantly scrubbing the heck out of this leather and I definitely feel like it will show age faster because of it.

I've thought about at least doing some sort of leather water protectant on it for when I need to use a damp cloth to get the bug guts off... Good idea? Any better ideas? I really don't know much about leather maintenance... Thanks all!
