Default Laptop Done, reccomend me one!

So, my laptop took a dump and I need a new one. I am trying to stay under 700 bucks, screen size does not matter (just no bigger than 17 inches)

Used mostly for school (wireless internet, word processing, and the occasional game) are important. I feel like the Intel Core 2 is the way to go, not sure if I need a dedicated video card. Would like to play old games like Diablo2 and nascar racing 2003. Maybe a few new shooters. How bad is onboard video? I know its real bad on a desktop.

Here is something I may purchase, not sure on the video card though, seeing as it doesnt have one. But it does share 1700mb of memory.

Newegg is great, same laptop from above on new egg is 80 bucks more expensive though.

How important is a dedicated graphics card to gaming? Are the ATI cards any good? How big of a difference between the GT and GS series from nvidia?

I bet you could email newegg and they will match their price.

If you want serious gaming you need something thats not intel or integrated.

SE<GS<GT<GTS<GTX from worst to better. But its not always like that in reality. For example, my 8800GT preforms the same or better than the 8800GTS. Just really depends, you have to read reviews, specs and benchmarks of the cards.

I'm selling my black MacBook for $1000. 4GB RAM, 250GB hardrive, 2.4 GHz Core 2 Duo. Plays games just fine (unless your a hardcore gamer, then you would want something built for games)

You can also dual-boot it with Windows XP if you need to.

The graphics processor is an Intel GMA X3100 using 144MB RAM. It should be just as good, if not better than your old laptop.
