King of the Mountain
So the I.o.M. TT has come to a historic end, Ian Hutchinson made history by winning all 5 races in the supersport, superstock and superbike categories. He is undeniably King of the mountain.
And what was he riding I hear you ask ?
...................why a Honda of course

Jorge Lorenzo and Loris Capirossi made an apearance from the Moto GP world and did a 'parade' lap. When asked they said it was great fun , but neither of them fancied competing , surprise surprise.
That's the difference, they're hugely talented but do it for the money, the TT guys do it for the love/thrill of racing. A lot of them have 'day' jobs and are just ordinary guys.....untill they get on a bike.

I was a fan of Colin Edwards until I saw this interview of him where a fan asks him, "What would you change about MotoGP?" and his reply was that he wanted a raise being that they take such huge risks whereas golf players don't risk much and get paid more. :P
Then there was this interview between Lorenzo and Rossi and when asked what they'd change about MotoGP they replied they wanted stuff like, "less electronics, return to 1000cc, etc."
I think it was Wayne Rainey or Doohan who said something about "the want" or whatever.. where you gotta crave it or else you might as well not be on a bike.

Can't say I totally blame the GP guys for not risking it, tho. They have a lot on the line as far as paychecks, sponsors, and contracts.

Edwards was probably near the $2-3mil range, tho.

Can't really blame him for saying it when Tiger Woods made $110mil and held the #1 spot.
Speaking of them getting paid.... I saw a comparison article on the top paid pro athletes vs. top paid CEOs and I was quite amazed that Valentino Rossi was number 9 on the list of athletes. He made $35mil in 2008.
