Kuroshio I guess maybe evidence isn't the right word, but the eyewitnesses support Zimmerman's story as well as the police investigation so far. From what I've read even the kids father said the voice on the tapes calling for help was not his son's, although he may have changed his tune now.

It probably would considering what the police have said, but I doubt any major media would bother showing it since they only seem interested in instigating.

 

I am with Kuro about the taking into custody, just to show that you can't just kill someone and walk away free; but Zimmerman is in hiding with Casey Anthony anyways.

I did hear on the radio that charges of "manslaughter" are going to be brought up on Zimmerman, but I couldn't find anything in writing(media) that supported it.

 

You guys make it sound like the cops just showed up and saw him there w/ Martin dead and said what happened, took his word as the truth, and let him go. Zimmerman did go to police headquarters and was questioned for 5 hours and police noted Zimmerman was "bleeding from the nose and the back of the head." The next day they reenacted the scene w/ Zimmerman there. Neither of these two was/is a saint, but it looks like the police did there job and the press just blew it up as a race thing b/c it was a good headline.

 

One more proof that we should question everything presented by news media. I know that, but didn't question and came to a premature conclusion - that Zimmerman saw himself as a hero acting out Dirty Harry scenarios. My apologies.

It appears there are two sides to the story, and the press (and some well known public parties) are using this story to inflame racial tensions for their own benefit. One can only hope truth will eventually come out.

 

There are many questionable factors at play.

1. Why would Zimmerman conceal a weapon, when going to supermarket? If he is no physically patrol an area.

2. Zimmerman reported to police of a suspicious person. Police ask if Zimmerman is following this person? If he is, he do not need to do this. (dirty Harry at play).

3. Martin is not hanging around that area doing nothing. His aunt actually lives in one of those complex. He is staying there with his aunt. It's not like he was from another area, looking to commit a crime in that subdivision. If he had that intent, he's stupid to be unarmed.

4. It's one on one...not a few people attacking one. Being 17yo, you expect he acting tough with no manner. Guessing after Zimmerman report to police, he may have confronted Martin. Martin being 17yo with bad manner may have **** off Zimmerman. Words exchange, the one on one brawl.....Zimmerman may have try to flash his weapon to scare Martin, but **** happens so fast, accidentally shot Martin on self defense.

But I agree with Kuro, because Zimmerman was never taken in for a thorough investigation/question...spark a fire of media storm. Especially when you have the Miami heat players getting involve.

No one really wake up on day and say, I'll shoot to kill base of suspicion. Does not make sense...likely is accidental.

But if Zimmerman was taken in for questioning, take photos of his injuries showing his struggle to back his story up. But instead, was never booked.

Really sad, but 17yo is so young. No parent should lay their kids to rest, should be the other way around.

I never believe in Guns... Chit just happens, people argue....guns get stolen. People watching to much action movies......etc...

 

He had a concealed carry permit didn't he? Plenty of people w/ concealed carry permits keep their guns on them or with them wherever they go. Would have been nice to have someone w/ a concealed carry when the VA tech shooter went nuts don't you think?

He was talking to an emergency dispatcher not a police officer and they told he didn't have to follow Martin but he isn't legally required to listen and obey their recommendations.

Martin was there to visit his father's fiancee as I recall. I don't know how Zimmerman would know that when he just ran away and then apparently deciding to attack Zimmerman as he got to his car after trying to keep up w/ Martin.

#4 is just too much speculation and deviates quite a bit from the reported story of Martin hitting Zimmerman in the face when he was trying to return to his car. Forensics should be able to figure out if Zimmerman was on the ground being hit like he claims when he shot Martin.

BTW Zimmerman was at the police headquarters being questioned for 5 hours after the incident and there the following day when they reenacted it. As for photos of Zimmerman's injuries I certainly hope the police were smart enough to take those and keep them as evidence.

 

Until then he shouldn't be running around a "free man." He is not even on bail/p.r..... nothing, just out waiting for "trail" or for whatever is going to happen...happen.

I don't know about you but if I had to shoot someone in self defense I don't think I should be locked up or forced to post bail for protecting myself. This is why we have law enforcement and the courts and they make the call, public opinion is irrelevant if they are doing their jobs well.
