Was thinkng about starting on dirt too, but most of em are too tall for getting him started as early as i'm thinking, you know? Am going to try to get him going on grass, on a pocket racer. Limited throttle of course, but i thought flat grass would be a better sport bike first lesson than dirt. Also seems safer to me than the dirt tracks cuz of others jumping n w/not. At least he wouldn't get much/any rash if/when he does fall. No slicks obv, but reg type tires.

 

Can you get off road tires for them pocket racers?

 

Yes. Can get the small tires in just about any tread you want. They don't have BIG lugs on em, like for mud, but big enough for grass.

 

Cool, would make a nice starter bike, startin out safe on grass plus he'll already be on a road bike for the transition to the street. Just gonna suck cause he cant be legal till 16, oh well put him on a track.
