Default Is it just me "literally

Is it just me or is this place as quiet as the grave I've seen livelier cemeteries, I've been checking out the post dates on various topics and it seems there's only a very small handful of guys including myself posting, what gives. I've been on several motorcycle forums over the years and have left them all bar one because they ultimately ended up with idiots being handed the forum when owners got pi**ed off with it all or the places just ended up being full of D*cks that didn't know their *** from there elbows and yet thought they had enough knowledge to tell everyone else where they were going wrong, I can't abide Imbaciles

I like this forum it's laid out well with plenty of differing subjects to go at from Tech to show us yours to favorite rides to just about everything else in between. This being a forum for CBR owners of which there are many across the globe it comfuddles me that you get lots of people reading the posts yet hardly anyone posting. I've seen many a forum die away with just the tumbleweed to be seen blowing around every time you log on over the years. It does have to be said I wouldn't blame 'anyone for thinking posting is a waste of time on a forum when you type out as much detail as you think "should be included along with your images "then, get only 1 comment or 2 if you're lucky. When you look at the number of people who have actually read what you've put but have then disappeared with no comment no point of view it seems a fruitless exercise. A forum is only as good as its members its owners and their teams input their ideas their bikes their builds their restorations their know how and their abilities AND their years of experience that can be pure gold when it comes to helping others.

I think either the members being as old as they are on here now are either falling asleep in front of the fire slippers on mug of cocoa in hand earlier and earlier or it's all these bogus injections frying people's brains OR theirs a whole lot of shy motorcycle owners on here that don't want to have their voice heard, you tell me. Yeah ok I'm bored STUPID right now its too late at night to go work on the bike I have one of those wives that aint overly happy with me bringing bits in and cleaning them up in front of the TV ...25 years ago I would have had the whole damned bike in the house, oh how I miss those days So, for now their aint a whole hell of a lot to do OTHER than sit here giving yall my perspective on all this I may or may NOT be talking an absolute load of twoddle (I'm sure you'll let me know) but I'm pretty sure I've hit on one or two all important points along the way so all I'm gonna say is DON'T just read "POST

Hmmm, not sure why it's so empty. Perhaps more focused forums are out there for CBR600 and 1000RR models.

Seems one-stop centralised forum for ALL CBRs would be most popular. Very odd.

Yeah, I got 1st ride at 4-yrs old on my uncle's bike. Loved it so much, I snuck out there and tried to ride it myself!!! Ended up with burnt foot trying to climb up via exhaust. Still have that scar between my toes 50-yrs later!

Sometimes real life gets in the way :-(

I’m currently camping out in an unfurnished flat redecorating it in preparation for re-letting. Tomorrow should have been completion date for selling the dammed place but that fell through because, with less than a week to go, the buyer’s mortgage company pulled out. It seems that 3 years ago the council had a fire risk assessment done which listed several changes to be made within 6 months or a year but did nothing about it and that makes the flat unsellable!

I am not a happy bunny.

I'm sorry to hear that buddy this is happening more and more now over here in the UK people pulling out of buying places not so much because of the changes being made you speak of but because of a completely corrupt Government hiking up payments on mortgages (dodgy fingers in WAY too MANY pies) you sound like you have the same kinda luck I do, just as one door opens for you another SLAMS firmly shut in your face. I hope you begin to get somewhere with this I know you're probably feeling pretty defeated right now but keep your chin up buddy look for the light at the end of the tunnel even if it means doing the very least to make these changes just enough to see you selling the property either that or think about other markets or avenues for selling it on, where there's a will there's always a way.

This question gets raised from time to time. IMO a couple of things come into play. 1. For the past several years most of the active members reside in the northern hemisphere. That means it's winter everywhere in forum land. By that people's attention tends to shift towards other things so they are just absent from the forum. Every spring you see an uptick in activity. The attention on this forum lends itself to the older generations of CBRs. They are beginning to age out and have fewer enthusiasts. We'd gladly welcome those with new bikes but from my vantage, it seems that there aren't many new bikes out on the road of this genre. Admittingly I live where cruisers are king but it's been a long time since I've seen a new model of any brand of sport bike out tooling around.
That's just my two cents so take it for what it's worth.

Not so much defeated as bloody angry!

Since the Grenfell Tower went up they're meant to be making sure it never happens again but it's pure lip service. One of the issues was further inspection of cladding and installation of automatic fire shutters but NOTHING has been done in 3 years.

As for the government they're either corrupt or incompetent - my best guess is both in equal measure.

Even since I joined I've noticed the winter slowdown.

As to there being fewer of the older CBRs, I'm not convinced. A few years ago that would have included the F2, F3 and F4 but now it includes the F4i as well. Also, as the bikes get older people feel more involved in the community of their fellow owners and need a self help group like this more.
