Just got back from first trackday
yea ive wanted to do one too. I, unlike alot of sport bike riders (not refering to anyone on OUR forum), actually realize theres more to sport bikes than going fast in a line... and i want to be able to lean soooo bad, and i do sometimes, but its dangerous on public roads, and in order to get alot of lean in public u have to be going like 70 into a 25 mph curve (which i do when i know its safe but still...)
how can i find a close track to me?
im in east central indiana, about an hour north east of indy.
and also, what are the requirements on gear?
and do you bring ur own bike?
i saw them talkin aboutplaces u can have track daysaton super bikes one day, and he said it was like $500 but where he went u they rented u gear and a bike i believe (but im not sure)

You can take your own gear, but most tracks have rentals and they require full leathers sometimes textiles. You take your bike and they will require you to tape up all lights, remove mirrors, and possibly safety wire oil plugs and filters (TWS does not). It all depends on the track.

Ya, I got black flagged cause my turn signal came off. How it came off IDK but I like to think it was because it nicked the ground in a turn

Does look like a blast, can't wait. Did you goof up at all entering/exiting pit? I hear lots of guys have their nerves so twacked they eff all kinds of stuff up, lol.
Gawd I can't wait... scuff your pucks?
No goof ups at the pits. Only goof up was at turn 1. As you can see from the track map, I was going south down the drag strip 100+ mph and turn 1 makes a sharp left and then right. I didn't make the left hard enough and cut that corner off the track. First few sessions I wasnt gona worry about trying to race. I was getting the feel of the track. The track grips a **** load better than the road. I jsut had some street tires on, Pirelli Diablos and I've almost got them to no have no strips. No knee dragging. Didn't have any pucks and I dont think the sides of my front tire were up to it so I didnt push it.
