Okay sinner, who do you l.ike? Unitus, Bradshaw, Tarkenton, Aikman, Elway, Peyton Manning, Brady...don't say Favre. Who do you li.ke? I will debate you all day andnight...
Joe Montana is not the best ever either Voodoo
Sidebar:
John Elway #1 Total package, strong arm, great leader, ability to scramble and make plays, 5 super bowl appearances, and even though they got beat down in 3 of them, he took teams that werent all that good and carried them by himself. When he did have a good team around him they were of course able to win 2.
Dan Marino #2 Best pure passer to ever throw a ball imo, has most of the records to prove it.
Joe Montana #3 Not real athletic, decent passer, but knew how to win.

The fact that this is a never ending debate shows both players are great in their own right. And whi.le it can never be answered, ESPN did some kind of virtual reality match up whe.re they matched up in a computer simulation using input from actual games and Jordan won .. not that it proved anything, but it was interesting. Hav.ing followed him in his days at UNC and attended games with his battles vs. Dominique and all the games available locally on WGN Chicago, imo Jordan used his team much better to enhance his own strengths. I don't get to watch Kobe as much but from what I've seen Jordan had better overall skills whi.le Kobe has some great individual talents .. maybe if Kobe gets more rings I'd be more open to the comparison .. that is the ultimate goal of the game after all.

RE: Jordan vs Kobe
Good arguments, Teeks, but here are my stats:
Montana's career passer rating: 92.3
Elway's career passer rating: 79.9
Montana's SB history: 4 games, four wins, three MVPs
Elway's SB history: 5 games, two wins, one MVP
Speaking of Superbowls:
Superbowl 24
Niners: 55
Broncos: 10
The other guy has alot of records, but one superbowl appearance:
Niners: 38
Dolphins: 16
Also Marino had a career passer rating of 86.4 (lower than Montana)
Just some stats...you can make stats do anything you want, though.

RE: Jordan vs Kobe
After doing some research im going to move Montana to #2 on my list above Marino. I absolutly cant deny the fact that the guy was a winner, and extremely clutch. What holds him down to me, and i will admit its not his fault even, but he always had such good teams, and great players around him. It makes it seem easy, like put Elway or someone else in that spot and they would have done it too. Could Montana have done what elway did though for years in Denver when they had pretty poor teams, and still got them as far as he did? Who knows, when its something this close its going to be our own interpretation. I dont really think either of us are horribly wrong though.
