Default It's official. Honda's new bike is . . .

a CBR????RR. Just talked to our local Honda dealer. She was at LasVegas for the big bike show. Honda took their dealers in to let them take a look at the new CBR. A secure room, large-sized security guys dressed in black, everyone had to put their cameras and cell phones in a special bag provided by Honda, had to hold them up in one hand to be sure nobody clicked a picture. They were allowed a couple minutes look, and some questions. She saidthe question and answer sessionwent something like this:

What displacement will it be?
Can't say.
Will it be fuel injected?
Can't say.
Will it have a six speed transmission?
Can't say.
What color scheme will be available?
Can't say.
Is the throttle fly-by-wire?
Can't say.
Will it have integrated, ABS brakes?
Can't say.
Will . . .

Well, you get the idea. The bike is supposed to be out summer of 2008.

That's it. No need to speculate. The grand unveiling answered all our questions.

My guess is: 1350cc+ displacement, fuel injected, fly-by-wire, six speed, horsepower / speed comparable to or higher than Suzuki or Kawasaki. Or, at least that's what Honda wants everyone to think.

I hope Honda never falls to fat cow desease that Kaw did to match the slow-a-busa.... I know it's fast, in a straight line, but what fun is that.... but I just hate the looks of both.

I'd say more likely a 800cc to match the new MotoGP displacment, that is if they do any new displacement.

Or maybe something to replace the extinct F4

Yeah. I'm leaning more toward the 800cc displacement...

HOPEFULLY the pics going around were of this new Honda "Busa-killer", and not the 1000RR. (even though the pics said 1000RR on them). Awesome that Honda is getting into the extremely-superfast bikes to kill off the horrible looking Busa (unless it's designed after the new 1000RR, then it'll fit right in.)
